Plastic card with contact chip

They are used as contact medium from simple memory card for the identification or prepaid phone cards to multi-application cards with microprocessor and cryptoprocessor for high application.

For plastic cards with contact chips there are commonly used the chips of producers:

• Infineon (Siemens)
• ST Thomson

These cards provide opportunities for secure and reliable medium for storage and access to the information saved in card chip.

The card can be personalized by thermoprinting or by digital printing.

It is possible to make so called hybrid card:
This card enables to combine data media on a card in a different way and to take advantage of each media. It is possible to produce the card either with contact or contactless chip, card with contact chip and magnetic stripe etc.

In the world marketplace there is quite a number of contact chip which is possible to implement into a plastic card. These chips are produced with different parameters according to the type and application demand.

A special reader should be used for communication with a chip.
