How to send data for the production of plastic cards

Graphic data should be processed on an Apple Macintosh computer or a compatible PC

Kindly read the below instruction carefully to avoid delay caused by other corrections.

Data should be processed using the following programmes: Adobe Illustrator (up to version 10.0), Adobe Photoshop (up to version 6.0) or Adobe Acrobat PDF/X-1a.

Adobe Illustrator:

• Save in ePS or PDF format, if you do not attach the fonts to the files; convert all the fonts into the vector curves.
• If you get bitmap pictures in Illustrator and save them there, the pictures must be always in colour model CMYK and must have a minimim resolution of 300 dpi.

Adobe Photoshop:

• Bitmap pictures in EPS, PSD, TIFF, JPG format must always be provided with a minimum 300 dpi resolution in picture colour model CMYK, in grey level or as black and white drawings - bitmap (TIFF).

Adobe Acrobat: PDF

• Bitmap pictures must always be provided with a minimum 300 - 400 dpi resolution in picture colour model CMYK, vector graphic should be provided the same way. Convert all the fonts into the vector curves.

 

USE THE CORRECT FILENAME EXTENSION (GRAPHIC FILES ARE TRANSMITTED THROUGH THE PC SERVER,THIS RESULTS IN FILES WITHOUT CORRECT FILENAME EXTENSIONS BEING UNOPENABLE).

YOU SHOULD ALWAYS CONSULT WITH THE RESPONSIBLE SALES MANAGER BEFORE USING PMS COLOURS

All the received graphic designs will be processed on Apple Macintosh in the final stage. While processing in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Acrobat on PC, please, follow the instructions for Apple computers except fonts. They are not compatible in the Mac platform and that is why the fonts must be always converted into vector curves in Illustrator.

 

Provide the data on CD-ROM or send it by e-mail to your responsible sales manager

IMPORTANT: The colour data must be in colour model CMYK. If you modify the bitmap pictures in Photoshop or Photo Paint in colour model RGB, you must always convert these pictures into "print" colour model CMYK for printing. If not this can cause serious changes of colour scheme (especially blue shades). The RGB colour model includes colour shades which are not printable in CMYK (classic offset print - four-coloured process.)

 

YOU SHOULD ALWAYS PROCESS THE GRAPHICS DATA WITH BLEED TO ALLOW PROCESS VARIATION. THE BLEED REQUIREMENT RESULTS IN A SINGLE CARD IMAGE SIZE OF 88mm x 56mm AS INDICATED ON THE DIAGRAM BELOW.
